“Guys keep asking me on dates on Facebook and I’m SICK of it!”  Well maybe if you weren’t showing your tits on your profile pic, you’d get less unwanted attention.  You’re gonna attract the wrong kind of person if you portray yourself like a hussy.  Have a little class, some tact, some integrity for god sakes.  Sure you’re 19 and your body is rock solid, breasts are PERFECT and you’ve got a nice butt and legs, but you dont know whos lurking on the internet so be careful.  Giggidy

Good news to share: I recently signed with the Silhouette Group to handle management and booking duties.  This is a very exciting time for me.  We have some big things happening this year, many good things on the horizon.  Among other things, the fine folks at the Silhouette Group are renovating my website and updating things here and there.  Above is the updated CLIENT LIST along with my new “logo” on the bottom right of the image.  The new logo is really cool.  The logo is courtesy of probably the BEST graphic artist on the block these days, the one and only Mike Tamzil.  Mike does top notch work and he is easily one of the top 10 graphic designers in the world right now.  Thank you to the Silhouette Group, Mike Tamzil, and to all the people who continue to support me.

Mercedez Benz Fashion Week 2010

Mercedez Benz Fashion Week is by far the world’s most important gathering of the whos who of the fashion world.  2010 marks well over a DECADE since my first time DJing a fashion show for none other than Ralph Lauren.  Its safe to say that gig propelled my career and has allowed me to do what I love for a living.

Thursday, February 18th, 2010, we are celebrating the end of an era for New York City’s Fashion Week.  The familiar “tents” that are set up in Bryant Park each year will have a new home at Lincoln Center.  No longer the “it hotel” across the streets from the tents, the hustle and bustle at the Bryant Park Hotel will shift focus to the Empire Hotel, just across the street from Lincoln Center.  All good things come to an end.  When one door closes, another opens.

I will be DJing this very special “LOOK INTO THE FUTURE” event for the fashion industry.  The event takes place at the luxurious ROOFTOP LOUNGE at the Empire Hotel on Thursday evening.

You can RSVP through Facebook.  The event posting is on my “wall”.

When you get to the door, simply tell the guestlist person that you are my guest.  See you on the dancefloor!

empirefeb4REAL BIG…  thats the only way to describe the talent inside the Empire Hotel’s Rooftop Lounge…  The man who started it for me, Tony Humphries, along with his wonderful wifey Heather hung all night.  I had a rare opportunity to bring in some of my closest friends to spin with me, Scott Wozniak, Bobby Morales and Mikey G.  Benji Candelario and Gladys Pizzaro dropped by to do their share of dancefloor waxing.  We were lucky enough to have a photographer at the party who took some great pics…  link below is a photo collage of the night, very cool video…

Technics turntables to cease production in 2010

Friday, November 27th, 2009 by ken

the-end-of-technics_header_imageFor all those DJ’s still spinning with decks, we have some sad, yet speculative news to share. We’ve been advised that Panasonic will be halting production of their infamous Technics 1200s and Technics 1210s for good.

We’ve personally spoken to Panasonic Germany and they’ve told us that they haven’t received any press release to confirm the news, but did mention that the discontinuation might just be applicable to the Australian market.

Nonetheless, if this is true it will be a sad day for the dance community. DJ’s across the world have used the Technics brand since 1972, with more than 3 million units being sold across the world. The 1200 series is commonly considered as one of the most durable and reliable turntables ever put on the market.

The turntable is so instrumental in popular culture that it’s even featured in the Science Museum of London as one of the key pieces of technology that have shaped music history.

Panasonic intend to cease production of the Technics 1200s and 1210s in February 2010.

Is this a marketing ploy or the real thing?  Well we will just have to wait and see.  At the very least, it makes me appreciate my decks that much more.  They’ve always been the most reliable piece of equipment in the booth.
